Stewed Sauerkraut with Potatoes

DSC_0008This recipe of stewed sauerkraut with potatoes takes a little time to cook, but is easy and delicious.Try it!

You need to have:

  • 1/2 pound sauerkraut, drained

  • 1 onion

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 1-2 carrots

  • 4-5 potatoes

  • 2-3 tbsp cooking oil

  • Salt, pepper, seasonings to taste

  • Approximately 1-1 1/2 cups water5

You need to do:

Cut onions and carrots finely. Pour oil in a pan with a thick bottom and put it on medium heat. Simmer onions and carrots till golden brownDSC_0002

Cut potatoes. Put into pan. Add water, salt and stew about 20 minutesDSC_0003

Add sauerkraut, tomato sauce, pepper and seasonings. Reduce heat and continue cooking for another 30 minutes. Add water if necessaryDSC_0004

One Pot Chicken & Potatoes

Let’s bake some chicken with potatoes in a sour cream and mustard sauce! It is hearty and tasty meal and you spend quite a bit of time and effort for it!

You need to have:

  • 2-3 Boneless Chicken Breasts

  • 5-6 Potatoes

  • 1 Garlic

  • 1 cup Sour Cream

  • 2 tbsp Mustard

  • Salt, Pepper, Seasonings

You need to do:

Peel the potatoes and garlic. Cut the potatoes and chicken in pieces

Chop the garlic. Mix sour cream, mustard and garlic pieces. Add salt, pepper and seasonings

Put the potatoes and chicken on a baking sheet. Pour the sour cream and mustard sauce. Leave to marinate for one hour

Preheat oven to 375F. Put baking sheet into the oven for 60-80 minutes

Remove from the oven and serve right away in the warm serving plate

Ukrainian Beet Salad

Traditional Slavic salad is oddly called the French word Vinaigrette. I usually cook it in winter, but recently I found all the ingredients and decided to make this beetroot salad. This salad is unusual but very rich and yummy. Try it too!
You need to have:

  • 2-3 beets

  • 2-3 carrots

  • 2-3 potatoes

  • 1 cup cooked or canned beans

  • 2 large dill pickles

  • 1 medium or few small onions

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

You need to do:

Place the beets into a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes. Add the carrots and potatoes. Boil for another 20-25 minutes. Drain the beets, carrots and potatoes, and let cool completely

Remove peels when cool

Cut the beets, carrots and potatoes into small pieces

Stir in the beans

Cut the the pickles and onion into small pieces

Mix all well then stir in the salt, pepper and olive oil

Serve the beet salad with greens, croutons or bread. For the main dish salad goes well with mashed potatoes and meat

Potato pancakes

Do not know what to do with two potatoes, one egg and a couple tablespoons of flour? I’ll tell you, and maybe this will be your favorite recipe! Potato pancakes are perfect meal for any time of the day but I prefer to eat them for breakfast.

So, for two servings you need to have:

  • 2 large potatoes

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • Salt, pepper

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

You need to do:

Wash, peel and rinse potatoes with water. Grate the potatoes on a fine grater. If you want to your potato pancakes be juicy and more spicy also grate there a small onion

Add egg, flour, salt and pepper to potato mixture. Mix well

In a frying pan heat up some vegetable oil and place potato mixture in the form of small pancakes

Fry the potato pancakes on a medium heat until golden. Wrap and fry on the other side until cooked

Hot potato pancakes serve to the table with a sour cream. Bon Apetit!

Potato snack with cream sauce

Today I suggest you to cook tasty and healthy snack to be full and happy! This is a very simple dish and it is perfect for dinner near the TV or for a casual party.

You need to have:

  • Potatoes

  • Salt

  • Spices

  • Parsley (or other herbs)

  • Sour cream

You need to do:

Heat oven to 400 degrees F (200 C). Cut the potatoes and put them on a baking sheetAdd salt and spices to taste and put bakedCooking potatoes will take 40-45 minutes.

While you have time prepare the sauce. Put the sour cream in a bowl, add salt, black pepper and mix

Cut parsley and add to the sauce. You can also add any other spices to taste. Mix everything well

When the potatoes will be ready put them on a plate

It’s great to dip potatoes into the sauce and to enjoy the wonderful taste. Sure you have to try it!

Stew with chicken

Here’s a great summer recipe Chicken Stew! Well it could be not only for summer but you try and decide!

You need to have:

  • Chicken breast boneless

  • 5-6 potatoes

  • 1-2 carrots

  • Brussels sprouts

  • 4-5 tbsp. olive oil

  • Salt and spices

You need to do:

Peel potatoes and carrots. Cut vegetables and chicken into pieces

In a large pot cook chicken and carrots in oil over medium heat. Add salt and spices

Stir potatoes, add salt

Then pour water in a pot and reduce heat

After twenty minutes stir sprouts

Let stew cooked until ready, add salt and spices if needed

Carefully stew is hot, but it is also so tasty!

Baked potatoes with brussel sprouts

I suggest you to try the recipe of tasty and easy Vegan dish.

You need to have:
  • 4-5 medium potatoes

  • Brussels sprouts (12-14)

  • 3 tsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt and seasonings to taste

You need to do:

Heat oven to 400 degrees F (200-220 degrees C).

Cut the potatoes into slices and put them on a baking sheet

Cut the brussels sprouts in half and put them on the top of potatoes

Sprinkle salt. Drizzle with olive oil

Then sprinkle some seasonings and paprika

Bake 30-35 minutes
